Historic talks between U.S. and IranThe first high-profile meeting between the U.S. and Iran in almost 30 years took place on Monday, and both sides later described the talks as positive. Some of the focus of the talks was on Iran’s support of militias in Iraq, which the U.S. urged Iran to stop. However, the meeting’s agenda steered clear of Iran’s nuclear program, which has boosted tensions between the two nations in recent months.The four-hour meeting was between U.S. ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker, and his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Kazemi-Qomi. The meeting indicated a shift in the U.S. policy of shunning almost all contact with Iranian officials since severing formal ties with the country in 1980, 14 month’s after Iran’s Islamic Revolution.

Military technology in the multiplexCinema ushers in Malaysia are taking a cue from the military and using night-vision goggles to catch video pirates in the act. They use the high-tech goggles to scan dark theaters for people illegally recording movies with video recorders or cellular phones. The Motion Picture Association reported that 17 people were caught in the last two months, all from the use of the night-vision goggles. Malaysia is high on the U.S. watchlist for movie and software piracy. Malaysian law enforcement initiated a crackdown on software pirates coinciding with the beginning of the nation’s free-trade talks with the U.S. one year ago.

Presentation Day..

There is a final presentation tomorrow. This class comes to the end. I guess I am going to make a presentation quite earlier, because my family name is Cha. I am so nervous. Can I do well? I want to wrap things up happily..

Young-Ho The Brithday..

Today was young-ho's birthday, but he had a previous engagement with some friends of his whom I did not know well, so we decided to hold a birthday party tomorrow. Young-ho is the master of our group. He is the power and the king. We should respect his birthday. I am looking forwar to tomorrow's birthday party..^0^

Hyeon-Jung..

Hyeon-Jung slept with me at my home two days running. We saw a movie, "300" at the first night. I was dead tired that I fell into sleep in the middle of the movie, but it had been interesting until I slept. The next day, we ate Jjajannmyeon somewhere in a yard at CAU.
And, we drank soju at night. Wm.. I think I should study form now on. Finals are just around th e corner..~~

Starleague..

I went to Yong-San with Hyen-Jung, Yo-Han and Min-Su to watch the "Starleague". I think everyone knows it a computer game which is the most popular of all. It was my first time to go there, though I watched it through TV many times. It was quite interesting to see people in person who were doing something for the show and the players. After that, I want to watch a movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, but it was to late to watch that, because it ended at 1: 20 in the morning. We just went back to CAU and Hyen-Jung and I got back to my home and hung around. It was a blast today.^0^

1.Do you think "teaching English Through English" is necessary in public school english class? Give us your opinion and supporting reasons.

Teaching English through English??
I think this is a good way in which a teacher teaches English to students, because it is just the English that we learn. Let me put it this way. People say you should look up an English-English dictionary when you face an English word which you do not know well, not an English-Korean dictionary. It is bacause we can not grasp the delicate meaning of the word through an English-Korean. For this reason, I think teaching English through English can deliver the word meaning the most.


2. Which English teachers do you think is better for our students, native speakers of English, or Korean English teachers? Why?

I think it does not matter whether your English teacher should be native speakers of English, or Korean English teachers. I think it is the ability to teach English that counts, not where you are from. I guess it is our misson to improve yourself to be a better teacher, regardless of your nationality.


3.How do you think will our English class be changed in the future? How do you ( as 사범대생) prepare for future English education in Korea?

I think talking in English in class would be the mainstream in the future. As I said above, it is because I suppose it is a good way that teaching and learning in English is the most efficient method. For me to be fitted into this way, I guess I should research how to teach English efficiently. For example, learning leading methods in foreign country or taking class like TESOL.

American map..

I drew a map of America for six hours, but I could not make it. I just went to sleep around 9 P.M before I knew it. I am so sad now, because I have a long way to go. I have a lot to finish this work. I will have to color this map, but I do not have any color pecils. I am at a deadlock..ㅋㅋ

Turkish Prime Minister deny allegations

Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan gave a speech at the annual assembly of the International Press Institute in Istanbul. He expressed frustration with the foreign media for using the phrase “two different Turkeys” since demonstrations started against the government in mid-April. He emphasized that his party is not religion-oriented and secularism is the guarantee for the lifestyles of all. The phrase “two Turkeys” is used to express the concept that the Turkish nation is divided between supporters of the ruling AK Party and those who feel their secular and modern lifestyle is under threat. PM said this misconception is caused by foreign media’s coverage of recent mass demonstrations and recalled that nobody in the international media had suggested “two Frances” after recent demonstrations against the election of President Sarkozy.

Talk about developing your blog.

My blog consists of several segments, such as listening materials, video world, news, dictionary and so on. My favorite segment is "my favorite sites". It is linked to English web sites where I can study English. The thing that I most emphasized on in designing my blog is how useful I can practice the blog to improve my English skills. So, I connected many English site to my blog.

Why don't I walk you through my last night?^0^

Yesterday was Mi-ra's birthday, so Mi-ra, I and some of my classmates drank together. We drank a lot. Nine bottles of soju were wasted at the first round. I think we were about 12 of us. One memeber did not drink anything, because she did not feel well. Anyway it rained yesterday, so I somehow wanted to drink.

Power up through sleeping..^0^

Yesterday I stayed up all night. Actually I was in a library all night, but slept most of the night..^^ Anyway, it is so tired that I slept in a chair, so I felt tired all day l0ng today. After class, I got back home, had dinner and right went into bed. It is 11:00P.M. I slept for about three hours. On finishing writing a diray, I am going to get right into bed again and refresh myself...haha..^0^

Diving into water..

I went to Cheong-gye-chun with some of my classmates. It was so fun. On arriving, we took some pictures. And then, we did not see this coming. This refers to going into the water. At first, we pushed Han-su into water and then I gave a push to Jin-heyon. Many of us were pushed into water. It was a little cold and a few cell phones and wallets were also wet. Anyway, we had a great time..

I tried to keep a dirary on a daily basis on my blog, but I sometimes missed out on it. There are over 50 diaries currently. Other than diary, there are many things on my blog. You can watch a video clip on my blog. It is about some kind of news and you listen to it in English, watching the pictures. Moreover, there are listening and reading materials where you can study, using these.
You can also check today's weather and latest news served by apple, google and microsoft. When you want to study English vocabularies, you might want to use my blog. It is very informative.

Feel the summer..^0^

Today, it was so hot. It seemed like summer has already come. It was about 28 degrees Celcius. Summer got me thinking of feeling good. hot sun.. blue sea...pretty girls in short sleeves and hot pants..ㅋㅋㅋ I want to go swimming to a beach. I have already got my hopes up..^0^

Sitting at a desk..

I went to a library after a long time. After mid-terms, I spent majority of time out of the library..^0^ I was kind of lonely, because I was by myself. I want to be in a library with someone whom I can study with, talk with and drink with. Chan-Heyon was supposed to be with me, but he kind of stood me up..ㅠ.ㅠ He did not answer my message. Anyway, onely...lonely...lonely...

Meeting friends..

I went to Sin-cheon today to meet two friedns of mine. I have been known them since I was in Pusan. Somehow we came to be in Seoul, so we decided to get together and have dinner. We ate pork and then we went to Yoensei University. It was cool. It was quite large and had a lot of buildings. After sightseeing and taking pictures, we had icecream in a Iceberry. It was so yummy. I thought it was a blast.^0^

Week 9 Journal..

Tell me your blog plan. What would you like to have in your blog and how would you like to organize them?

I want to make my blog just like a textbook. I mean I want to study English by using my blog, so I will link many English-studying sites. When I construct my blog as planned, I will study English naturally. It's because there will be many English materials on my blog whenever I visit the blog. And, I will write a diary daily. Writing sentences in English will help a lot.

Across the waters..

It has been a while since I last went swimming, so I went swimming today. I think I went swimming on a regular basis early in the spring semester, but I became kind of lazy over time, so I did not actually went regularly. It was so good. I am going to go tomorrow, too. Is there anybody who want to go along?? Hong-Min is going to be in..^0^

rise in lunch price..

After a class, I went to one of students' restaurants, Chammaroo with some of my classmates. Lunch used to be priced at 2500 Won, but today it was 35oo Won. It has risen by 1000 Won overnight. What a surprising hike. Some of my classmates just went to other restaurant out of the campus, others went to another students' resraurant and the others, including me, went to Chammaroo, but we just ate Woodong which was 1800 Won. We were kind of in disarray at lunch..^0^

want some sleep..

These days, I think I have been too harsh on my body. I mean too many drinkings, much stress and short sleeping.... For those reasons, I have always felt tired, but fortunately I slept much yesterday. After watching a movie at Gangnam, I was tired to death. So, I right got back to home and only wash my hands and face and then went to sleep. I slept 9 hours yesterday. It feels so good. I think I am recharged..^0^
